Practice Schedule

Please bring your own towels and a water bottle to all practices.  The club does not supply cups or towels during practices.  Thank you!

 

Unless stated otherwise by Coach Bagley, all practices the day after a meet follow the Saturday schedule.

Home

Morning Swim Practice Schedule: Mon-Fri

 

Blue:  7:00 – 8:30 am

 

Silver: 8:30 – 9:45 am

 

9-10 yr. old: 9:45 – 10:45 am

 

8 & unders : 10:45 – 11:30 am

 

Pre-Team: 11:30 - 12:00 pm

Tuesday & Saturday Practice Schedule:

All 11 & Up: 8:30-10 am

9-10's: 9:45-11 am

8 &U's: 10:45-11:30 am

Pre-Team: 11:30-12:00 pm

 

Clinic Schedule  

*Max 8 swimmers per clinic

Clinics will be offered during the season on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Clinics will rotate on a daily basis, covering all four major strokes, starts and turns.

Practice Groups

Monday – Saturday

11 & Up – The Blue and Silver practice groups for all 11 and older swimmers.  Criteria for the Blue group are prior competitive swimming experience and a commitment to attend a minimum of 80% of the season’s practices (maintain a 80% average throughout the summer).  Swimmers who decide to not commit to the Blue group will attend the Silver group practices.

Blue        

Regular Season Practice 

Monday –Friday 7:00 AM - 8:45 AM

Saturday: 8:30-10 am

 

Structure

  • Technique provided during pre-season, and 30 minute 2-3 x per week during regular season practice for stroke drills, starts, turns and finishes.
  • Heart rate and sprint training emphasized in this group. 
  • IM and stroke emphasis in this group.
  • Regular Season Practices: Mix of kick, drill, breath control and variable sprint sets.  Emphasis on technique, starts and turns.  
  • 15 minutes of dry-land and stretch workout.

Silver       

Regular Season Practice 

Monday – Saturday 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM

 

Structure

  • Technique provided during pre-season, and 45 minute 2-3 x per week during regular season practice for stroke drills, starts, turns and finishes.
  • IM and stroke emphasis in this group.
  • Regular Season Practices: mix of half instruction and half yardage will be provided for athletes.
  • Warm Up (300 meters), Stroke/Drill Set (500-700 yards), Main Set (700 meters), Stroke Technique (45 minutes), Warm-Down (300 meters.)
  • 15 minutes of dry-land and stretch workout.

9-10’s

Regular Season Practice 

  9:45 - 11:00 am    Monday - Saturday  

  

Structure

  • Technique provided during pre-season, and 45 minute 2-3 x per week during regular season practice for stroke drills, starts, turns and finishes.
  • IM and stroke emphasis in this group.

8 & under

Regular Season Practice 

10:45 - 11:45 am    Monday - Saturday

 

Structure:

  • Mostly consisting of 25 swims of variety of strokes.
  • Practices will be devoted to a specific skill each day: Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, Freestyle, and Starts/Finishes.
  • Integrating starts from beginning of pre-season (due to length of time needed to master)
  • 15 minutes of dry-land and stretch workout.

Pre-Team

Regular Season Practice (Through July 19)

10:45 - 11:30 am    Monday - Saturday   

 

  • For swimmers not yet ready for the Swim Team, but ready for more beyond swim lessons. 
  • Pre-Team participants must be able to successfully make 1/4 of a length and kick a length with a kickboard.  
  • Pre-Team participants must be able to put their face in the water and be horizontally positioned to swim. 
  • A pre-team participant may be moved to their swim team age group when the coach, parents, and swimmer are in agreement.
  • Pre-Team participants will be able to participate in Home meets only as Exhibition swimmers.
